Tuxedo Mask/Kamen is tall, dark, and handsome. And (*sob*) destined to marry Usagi. The number of time he is brainwashed/killed/or in other heart-breakingly sad ways torn away from his only love whom he affectionately calls Usako is only exceeded by the amount of alter-egos he has.

When Tuxedo Kamen first appears it is as his human counterpart, Chiba Mamoru/Darien Shields. Usagi/Serena accidentally hits him in the face with the crumpled remains of the test she just failed. After a few insults (including "odanga/meatball head/cow tails") her and Mamoru/Darien's relationship was off to a (rocky) start. Meanwhile, Usako finds out she's Sailormoon the (clutzy, crybaby) champion of justice and meets a dark and handsome man who saves her from herself a few times. She soon falls in love with him (who wouldn't?) and both are completely unaware that he, Tuxedo Mask, is really Mamoru/Darien.

After a few battles, kisses, and a really funny sceen in which the truth is unveiled about both of their idenities, Usako and Mamo-chan (as Usagi calls him) are ready to face their future together.

Mamo-chan is a noble and caring guy. He is very chivilarous and believes in the "Ladies First" philosophy. One thing that keeps him from perfection is his inability to express his feelings; Remember that whole dreams thing in SMR?

Mamoru is completely willing to give up his life for Usagi and has many times taken the brunt of the blow for her (Let's not mention that she is a hundred times more powerful than he is, and if anything she should be the one doing the protecting). In the Silver Millenium one thousand years prior he did this and saved Princess Selenity/Serena from the Negaverse/Queen Metellia and died as a result. The Moon Princess then promptly killed herself from heartbreak (doesn't that make the whole sacrifice pointless?), was transported to today, found out she was Sailormoon, etc. Another demonstration of Mamo-chan's devotion to his love is in the second season after he lost his memories. Even though he didn't remember being Tuxedo Mask and being in love with Usagi, his subconscious did and so came the Moonlight Knight.

As mentioned earlier, Mamoru is destined to be King Endymion of the 30th century and rule over Crystal Tokyo with Neo-Queen Selenity (Usagi's future self) and their pink haired daughter Chibiusa.
